PLAY love you tender
Hey, LOOK! It’s the barebones-iest demo version of my indie game!
This is my first playable reveal of what I’ve been working on – a simple 2D side-scroller platformer. Can you beat it? Probably. It’s not very challenging. Go see what I put at the end 🙂
Each time you re-load the game, the level will be different, which is pretty cool. There aren’t any enemies right now – I don’t have them spawning automagically with the Level Generator – but my robot will make an appearance at a later date.
(By the way, love you tender has been the working title/project filename of my game since I started. Not a particularly big reveal but now you know!)
Leave a comment and let me know what you think of my indie game demo so far. Keep in mind this is not even CLOSE to finished – there’s a lot that needs to be added a lot of obvious problems that I’m aware of. This is just for fun and I gotta say I’m thrilled to have accomplished this much!

Hello. I like your game. 🙂
Thanks so much! yay
Rocco from SIMMER here, very pretty game, looks like a lot of hand painting and scanning or did you do it all digital?
A little more contrast on the main character might be helpful.
So much painting and scanning. Actually not even scanning, just taking pictures of my art with my iPhone hehe!
I’ve heard that the char blends in too much- I’m going to do some work to make the bg more misty/parallaxy to have him stand out a bit more.
Thanks so much for your feedback (:
Just jumping around on the platforms is so much fun! Love your art style. Keep up the great work!
Hehe I think so too! Thanks so much I’m glad you like it 🙂
Great Game.
The Controls are a bit stiff (they should be as fast as the typing is in a text box)
also i know this is barebones but what is the shoot for?
also the colors do sometimes clash, so you cant always see what to walk on and what not to.
plus you should also allow the camera to 1. hint where to go if the play is not moving, 2. allow the camera to see a little forward/backwards/up/down (all, plz)
keep up the good work and i hope to see my feedback implemented. #DevAway!
Shooting is for the enemy that I made but didn’t put into this yet – I haven’t made the mechanism to drop them randomly in the level. You can see it in action here though!
I agree with the colours too – definitely need some contrast changes so things are easier to see. I also am still figuring out how to tweak the camera to make it easier to see, those are great suggestions I’ll see what I can do about that.
Thanks so much for the feedback I really appreciate it!
Beautiful game! and the movements are smooth and well done too! nice work
Thank you!!!!!
Cool game! Congrats on putting it out there for the world to see (which I often find to be the hardest part). I love the hand-drawn art style. The controls felt easy to understand and responsive. I wasn’t sure if there was supposed to be some sort of win sequence after reaching the *spoiler*. So I kinda just jumped off the ledge. But it was fun!
Well done!
You make it home, and then you die! Hehehe Thanks so much I’m really glad you like it, and I appreciate the feedback! Will definitely add more flourish to the ending for sure 🙂
It’s a cool game! although sometimes you can’t see the next platform you need to go to so its a leap of faith if you make it or not
